A bridal and formal wear fashion show in the heart of the City of the Waterfall
Fashion Under the Stars is the summer fashion night in Isola del Liri, one of the most picturesque towns in the province of Frosinone, in the heart of the Ciociaria region and southern Lazio. For one night, the historic town squares become an open-air runway where collections of bridal and formal wear created by local ateliers and fashion professionals are showcased.
The event title changes from year to year—Moda Estate in 2025, Fashion Under the Stars in 2026—but the formula remains the same: elegance, sartorial craftsmanship, and entertainment in an unparalleled urban setting. Isola del Liri is, in fact, the only Italian city crossed by a waterfall that plunges directly into the town center, providing a stunning natural backdrop for the evening.
The heart of the event is the fashion show: bridal gowns, formal dresses, and unique creations presented by local ateliers, accompanied by lighting, live music, and choreography. Alongside the models, the evening features dance performances by professional dancers and entertainment hosted by television personalities.
The event is promoted by the L'Essenza delle Donne association, with the support of the Isola del Liri municipal administration, specifically councilor Camilla Di Cocco, alongside Pontecorvo councilor Vanessa Pretola. The artistic direction for the 2026 edition was entrusted to Geremia Di Massa. The project was born with a dual goal: to promote the local artisanal and commercial fabric—tailors, ateliers, clothing stores, hairdressers, florists—and to offer the city a high-quality summer event open to everyone.
With just over nine thousand inhabitants, Isola del Liri owes its unique appearance to the Liri River, which splits into two branches to form the famous Great Waterfall, about thirty meters high, cascading at the foot of the Boncompagni-Viscogliosi castle. The city's paper and textile industry grew around this waterfall, and today the same scenery serves as the natural stage for summer events. Fashion nights have been held both along Via Roma and the Waterfall Bridge and in Piazza Boncompagni, at the foot of the castle.
Fashion Under the Stars is part of the broader summer calendar in Isola del Liri, which brings concerts, food festivals, theatrical performances, and family events to the city between June and September. The fashion show, traditionally held between late June and early July, effectively kicks off the season of outdoor evening events and attracts audiences from across the Liri Valley, including Sora, Arpino, Pontecorvo, and neighboring towns.
It is not a Fashion Week, nor does it aim to be: it is an elegant village festival where the street is the runway and the audience sits on steps and at café tables. Visitors from out of town will find a lively historic center, the illuminated waterfall, restaurants open late, and a friendly, typically Ciociarian atmosphere. It is also a great opportunity to discover the work of local ateliers, often small family-run businesses that find an unexpected showcase here.
On Sunday, July 5, 2026, starting at 9:00 PM, Piazza Boncompagni in Isola del Liri was transformed into an open-air runway for an evening entirely dedicated to bridal and formal fashion. Local ateliers and industry professionals presented unique creations under the summer sky of the City of the Waterfall.
The evening's guest of honor was actress Manuela Arcuri, who graced the runway; the event was hosted by Cristina Marrone. Guests also included dancer Valeria Venditti, trained in classical, modern, and contemporary dance, a multiple-time Italian champion, and artistic director of the PassioneDANZA Ballet Studio. The artistic direction of the event was handled by Geremia Di Massa, who oversaw every detail of the show.
The event was organized by the L'Essenza delle Donne association with the strong support of municipal councilor Camilla Di Cocco and Pontecorvo councilor Vanessa Pretola. The evening took place outdoors, with free admission, and the square remained open to everyone until late at night.

By plane: Rome Ciampino is about 100 km away, Rome Fiumicino about 130 km away.
The fashion shows are held in the historic center: Piazza Boncompagni, at the foot of the castle, or along Via Roma and the Waterfall Bridge. The area becomes pedestrian-only during the event; parking is available in areas adjacent to the center, and arriving early is recommended.
The evening starts at 9:00 PM. The event takes place outdoors in public spaces with limited seating: it is advisable to arrive at least half an hour early to secure a good spot along the runway.
Accommodation is available in Isola del Liri, Sora (5 km away), and throughout the Liri Valley area; there is a good selection of farm stays and B&Bs in the Ciociaria hinterland.
Combine your visit with a trip to the Great Waterfall, which is illuminated at night, and the historic center. During the event days, the Isola summer program offers other activities: it is worth checking the municipal calendar.
