An immersive Middle-earth day for children in the medieval village of Grazzano Visconti
The medieval village of Grazzano Visconti, part of the Municipality of Vigolzone in the province of Piacenza (Emilia-Romagna), hosts a day entirely dedicated to children and the world of fantasy. Amidst neo-Gothic style alleys, towers, and courtyards, the village offers the perfect setting for an immersive experience inspired by The Lord of the Rings and the imagery of Middle-earth.
The distinguishing feature of this event, compared to other fantasy gatherings, is its focus exclusively on children aged 6 to 12. The Cortevecchia area is transformed into a safe, child-friendly narrative space, populated by fantasy characters, costumed entertainers, and medieval settings designed to fully engage the younger attendees. Parents accompany their children with free entry, while the animated experience is reserved for the children.
The program features themed fantasy entertainment, encounters with characters inspired by Tolkien's work, group games, tests of courage, and interactive adventures that accompany the children throughout the day. Everything unfolds within the village setting, which remains freely accessible to the general public as well.
The event is organized by Eventi Magici e Fantastici, the same team that brought to life some of the longest-running fantasy events in Northern Italy: the Giornate Magiche di Belgioioso (from 2006 to 2019, at Castello di Belgioioso in the province of Pavia), Soncino Fantasy (from 2007 to 2024, at Rocca di Soncino in the Cremona area), and the more recent Agazzano Giornata Fantasy, at Castello di Agazzano in the province of Piacenza. Thanks to this extensive experience, the organizers bring a proven format to Grazzano Visconti, dedicated entirely to a child audience.
