A weekend to discover normally closed places in Genoa and Liguria
The FAI Spring Days are the most anticipated event of the year for lovers of Italian cultural heritage. Organized by the FAI – Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano (Italian National Trust), every spring they open hundreds of normally closed or little-known places to the public for a weekend throughout Italy. In Genoa and Liguria, this edition features dozens of extraordinary openings, with guided tours led by FAI volunteers and apprentice guides.
Among the openings in Genoa are symbols like the Lighthouse of Genoa, a historic beacon and emblem of the city, and the Antica Barberia Giacalone, a gem of applied art. The province offers fascinating sites such as the Abbey of San Fruttuoso in Camogli, accessible only by sea or on foot, while in the Imperia area, the village of Pigna opens its historic churches and Villa Isnardi. In the La Spezia and Savona areas, villas, sanctuaries, and palaces complete a rich map.
During the Spring Days, FAI properties regularly managed in Liguria are also open for visits: in addition to the Antica Barberia Giacalone and the Abbey of San Fruttuoso, Casa Carbone in Lavagna, Villa Rezzola in Lerici, Podere Case Lovara in Levanto, and Casa e Collezione Laura in Ospedaletti. A widespread heritage that tells the story and beauty of the region.
The FAI Spring Days are much more than a series of visits: they are a grand public celebration dedicated to culture and landscape, an invitation to rediscover the territory and support the FAI's work in protecting heritage. An unmissable opportunity to experience Genoa and Liguria from a new perspective.
The 2026 edition of the FAI Spring Days, the 34th, will be held on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March. In Genoa and Liguria, the FAI will open normally inaccessible places to the public, with a program featuring numerous extraordinary openings.
Among the visitable sites are the Lighthouse of Genoa, the Antica Barberia Giacalone, the Abbey of San Fruttuoso in Camogli, the village of Pigna with Villa Isnardi in the Imperia area, as well as the FAI properties regularly open in the region.
