The jazz festival of Fabriano between concerts and advanced training
FabriJazz is the main jazz review in Fabriano, the city of paper in the mountainous hinterland of the Province of Ancona, in the Marche region. Founded in 2014 and growing edition after edition, the festival is promoted by the Fabriano Pro Musica association with the support of the City of Fabriano, AMAT, the Marche Region, and the Ministry of Culture. In 2026, the review will reach its thirteenth edition.
FabriJazz is not a single weekend, but a journey that spans Fabriano's spring and summer. It traditionally opens around the end of April with the celebration of International Jazz Day, proclaimed by UNESCO, and then continues with concerts, workshops for families, and the advanced training week at the end of August. The festival venues are among the most beautiful in the city: the San Benedetto Monumental Complex, the very central Piazza Fabi Altini, and the romantic Giardini del Poio, the open-air stage for summer evening concerts.
Over the years, FabriJazz has brought renowned national and international pianists, drummers, saxophonists, and vocalists to Fabriano. The program alternates solo piano, trios, and larger ensembles, with a particular focus on the quality of the performers rather than the quantity of events. Among the protagonists of recent editions are artists such as Andrea Pozza, Vana Gierig, and Roberto Tarenzi, testifying to an artistic level that is second to none in the Marche hinterland.
The true distinctive feature of FabriJazz is the link between performance and education. Every year, at the end of August, the San Benedetto Monumental Complex hosts a week of advanced courses open to instrumentalists and singers of all levels: guitar, drums, piano, sax and flute, trumpet and trombone, bass, vocals, accordion. The days, packed with lessons, masterclasses, and jam sessions, culminate in evening concerts where teachers and students share the stage. It is this blend of study and performance that gives the festival its atmosphere of an open and welcoming musical community.
With the FabriJazz for Kids review, dedicated to the youngest, and free or low-cost concerts, the festival aims at a broad and diverse audience. For Fabriano, already a UNESCO Creative City for its ancient paper-making tradition, FabriJazz has become an identifying element of the city's summer and an opportunity to discover an artistic village often off the beaten tourist track.
The XIII edition of FabriJazz confirms the widespread format that characterizes the Fabriano festival: a series of events spread throughout spring and summer, including concerts, workshops, and advanced training. The opening is traditionally entrusted to the celebration of International Jazz Day at the end of April, followed by events in June in Piazza Fabi Altini and the grand week of courses at the end of August at the San Benedetto Monumental Complex.
The festival is organized by the Fabriano Pro Musica association with the support of the City of Fabriano, AMAT, the Marche Region, and the Ministry of Culture.

Fabriano is located in the hinterland of the Province of Ancona, well connected by train on the RomeโAncona line (Fabriano station) and by car via the SS76 of the Val d'Esino. The main festival venues โ San Benedetto Monumental Complex, Piazza Fabi Altini, and Giardini del Poio โ are within walking distance of the historic center.
