Great chamber music in the Sistine Chapel of the Marches
The Fabriano Chamber Music Season is one of the longest-running and most beloved concert series in the Marches. Organized by the local section of Gioventù Musicale Italia (GMI / JM Italia), it brings a cycle of concerts dedicated to the great chamber repertoire to the historic center of Fabriano, in the province of Ancona, every year. The repertoire ranges from Viennese classicism to the 20th century, including romantic and contemporary music.
Now in its 52nd edition in 2026, the series has maintained its identity: a quality program entrusted to established performers and, above all, to young musicians who are winners of the most important international competitions, fully consistent with Gioventù Musicale Italia's mission to promote emerging talents.
The concerts are held in the Oratorio della Carità, on Via Cesare Battisti, an artistic gem entirely frescoed in the 17th century by the painter Filippo Bellini, earning it the nickname the Sistine Chapel of the Marches. Listening to chamber music within these painted walls offers an intimate and rare experience of intensity, where the acoustics of the space engage with the visual beauty of the location.
The season comprises seven afternoon concerts (5:00 PM) featuring string quartets, piano recitals, ensembles with harp and flute, chamber duos, and voice and piano performances. The 2026 edition's program included:
