About Similitudini Festival
A poetry festival in the heart of Jesi
Similitudini Festival is one of the most recognizable cultural events in the Municipality of Jesi, in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. Founded in 2017 from the idea of the association Nie Wiem APS, the festival is dedicated to contemporary poetry, understood not as a closed genre, but as a language capable of interacting with all other arts: music, visual arts, theatre, illustration, and philosophical reflection.
Where it takes place
The main venue is the historic Biblioteca Planettiana, housed in the Palazzo della Signoria in Piazza Colocci, one of the most evocative buildings in Jesi's historic center. During the festival days, the event extends to other symbolic places in the city, transforming courtyards, historic halls, and urban spaces into stages for readings, exhibitions, and performances. This widespread dimension is one of the identifying features of Similitudini, which invites the public to rediscover Jesi's architectural heritage through poetry.
The program and the spirit of the event
Each edition revolves around a central theme, expressed in the recurring slogan "...like poetry" (in past years "Democratic", "Resistant", and for 2026 the theme of roots with "Rooted like poetry"). The program intertwines different languages:
- Readings and meetings with contemporary authors and voices of Italian poetry;
- Talks and dialogues between poetry, science, philosophy, and current affairs;
- Exhibitions and installations in the spaces of the Biblioteca Planettiana and historic palaces;
- Concerts and live performances;
- the presentation of COME, the magazine born from the festival that collects ideas and reflections on the themes of each edition.
The preview "Aspettando Similitudini"
The festival is preceded in spring by a preview titled Aspettando Similitudini (Waiting for Similitudini), a day of meetings and dialogues that anticipates the theme of the autumn edition. It often involves local schools, including the Liceo Artistico Mannucci of Jesi, reinforcing the event's educational and participatory vocation.

With free admission to all events, Similitudini Festival has established itself as a reference point for lovers of poetry and contemporary culture in the Marche region. 2026 Edition: "Rooted like poetry"
The 2026 edition of Similitudini Festival revolves around the theme of roots, understood as origin, belonging, and memory, but also as a starting point for transformation. Confirmed for autumn in Jesi, the event maintains its widespread structure between the Biblioteca Planettiana, the Palazzo della Signoria, and other historic spaces in the center.
The preview "Aspettando Similitudini"
The new edition was preceded on Saturday, April 18, 2026, by the preview Aspettando Similitudini, at Palazzo della Signoria, on the theme of roots. The day featured the meeting "Beautiful as the square root of two" in the morning with the writer and mathematician Robert Ghattas, with the participation of some classes from the Liceo Artistico Mannucci of Jesi; in the afternoon, the presentation of the book "The Office of Darkness" with Giorgiomaria Cornelio; and in the evening, the meeting "Rooted like poetry" with the presentation of issue number 5 of the magazine COME.
The complete program for the autumn 2026 edition will be published by the organization in the weeks preceding the event. All events are free admission.

- 11:00 AM - "Beautiful as the square root of two", meeting with writer and mathematician Robert Ghattas (with Liceo Artistico Mannucci);
- 6:00 PM - presentation of the book "L'ufficio delle tenebre. Una favola di uomini, bestie e piante" with Giorgiomaria Cornelio;
- 7:00 PM - "Rooted like poetry", presentation of issue number 5 of the magazine COME.
