Summer evenings in Calasca-Castiglione, Valle Anzasca
Estate Calaschese is the summer festival that brings the municipality of Calasca-Castiglione to life every August. This small village in the Anzasca Valley lies along the route to Monte Rosa, in the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province (Piedmont). For about ten days, the village center and its hamlets become the evening meeting point for locals and visitors alike, with a calendar of events designed for all ages.
The heart of the festival is its dance nights: every evening, under the festival marquee, guests dance to the music of orchestras and bands, following the tradition of ballroom and folk music deeply rooted in the Ossola valleys. There are also DJ sets, aimed primarily at younger crowds, which keep the party going until late at night.
Alongside the music, the program features entertainment and comedy, with cabaret nights and magic shows and workshops for children. Families find the festival a simple and genuine way to spend summer evenings together, while the traditional bingo night (tombolata) brings both young and old together around their cards.
One of the most anticipated moments is the fireworks display: the pyrotechnics light up the sky over the Anzasca Valley, offering a special evening for those crowding the village streets. Throughout the event, a bar and food service is available, contributing to the convivial atmosphere while raising funds for the organizing association's activities.
Estate Calaschese is organized by the Associazione Sportiva Calasca with the collaboration of the local Pro Loco and the patronage of the municipality. More than just a large festival, it is a community celebration that reflects the identity of the Ossola valleys: a free, welcoming event deeply tied to the land, perfectly integrated into the rich summer calendar of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola and ideal for discovering the Anzasca Valley and its villages at the foot of Monte Rosa.
The 2026 edition of Estate Calaschese takes place in Calasca-Castiglione (Anzasca Valley, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola) from Friday, August 7th to Sunday, August 16th, 2026, with free admission. The dates are confirmed by the municipality's official events page.
Following in the footsteps of previous editions, the calendar includes dance nights with live music every evening, DJ sets, comedy and magic shows for children, the traditional bingo night, and the fireworks display. The detailed evening program, including guests and times for each evening, will be published by the Calasca Sports Association in the weeks leading up to the event.
