Estate Caerite, Cerveteri's grand summer programme
Estate Caerite is the summer festival promoted by the Municipality of Cerveteri and the Department of Culture: a rich calendar of free-entry events that, from July to the end of August, transforms the Etruscan city into a widespread stage. The name evokes Caere, the ancient Etruscan city from which Cerveteri derives, now world-renowned for the Banditaccia Necropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The programme is designed as a container for dozens of diverse events: theatrical performances, concerts, cabaret nights, brass band music, open-air cinema screenings, and traditional local food festivals in the hamlets. It is a way to showcase the most evocative spots in the area and offer residents and tourists a summer filled with culture and social engagement.
Festival venues
Events are distributed across the main city spaces:
- Piazza Santa Maria, in the heart of the historic centre, the setting for the opening performances;
- Parco della Legnara, the large urban park hosting concerts and theatre under the stars;
- Campo di Mare and the Lungomare dei Navigatori Etruschi, featuring music and comedy nights on the coast;
- the hamlets of Cerenova, Due Casette, and the local villages, brought to life by food festivals and neighbourhood celebrations.
A programme for everyone
The Estate Caerite formula brings together big names in Italian entertainment and local talent. Each edition alternates between auteur theatre (from the classics of Pirandello and Machiavelli to contemporary shows), live music concerts, tributes to great singer-songwriters, cabaret, and the debut of new festivals like the Cerveteri Blues Festival. There is no shortage of events dedicated to families and children, music from the Gruppo Bandistico Caerite, and the food stalls of the local festivals.
The programme traditionally concludes at the end of August with the Grape and Wine Festival of the Colli Ceriti, a hallmark event that celebrates the territory's winemaking vocation.
Cerveteri and the Etruscan Lazio
Located in Lazio, north of Rome along the Tyrrhenian coast, Cerveteri is one of the capitals of the ancient Etruscan civilization. Attending the Estate Caerite shows means experiencing summer evenings in a setting of great historical and landscape charm, amidst the medieval historic centre, green parks, and the sea. The fact that all events are free makes the festival an opportunity open to everyone.

The 2026 edition of the summer festival of the Municipality of Cerveteri opens on July 9th in Piazza Santa Maria and continues throughout the summer, with free events distributed between the historic centre, Parco della Legnara, Campo di Mare, and the hamlets. Theatre, music, cabaret, and food festivals alternate every evening until the traditional Grape and Wine Festival of the Colli Ceriti at the end of August.

- July 11th - Gruppo Bandistico Caerite conducted by maestro Augusto Travagliati;
- July 12th - Zucchini Flower Festival;
- July 13th - Parco della Legnara: "Ho visto la musica", tribute to Ennio Morricone with Lorenzo Flaherty;
- July 14th-15th - Parco della Legnara: first edition of the Cerveteri Blues Festival with Judith Hill and Kevin Gullage;
- July 16th - "Il berretto a sonagli" by Pirandello;
- July 17th-18th - Melon Festival and Agricultural Fair, with the Bags' tribute to Baglioni at Campo di Mare;
- July 19th - Parco della Legnara: "Il Babysitter" with Paolo Ruffini;
- July 20th - "La Mandragola" by Machiavelli.

How to get there
Cerveteri is located in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in Lazio. By car: A12 Rome-Civitavecchia motorway, exit at Cerveteri-Ladispoli. By train: Marina di Cerveteri-Ladispoli station on the FL5 Rome-Civitavecchia line, then bus to the centre. Nearest airport: Rome-Fiumicino (approx. 40 km).
Entry and times
Estate Caerite shows are free to enter (unless otherwise indicated on individual event posters). Evening start times are generally set around 9:00 PM - 9:30 PM. The hamlet festivals also include daytime activities.
