The Befana Fair in Lissone

In Lissone, a city in the province of Monza and Brianza, Epiphany is celebrated with a deep-rooted tradition: the Epiphany Fair. Every year, around January 6th, Via Garibaldi and the city centre fill with stalls, in one of the last major festivals of the Christmas season.

Stalls and typical sweets

The fair features food and non-food stalls, with typical products and sweets of the season. Among the specialties is the Papurott, a local traditional sweet, which the Pro Loco (local tourism board) distributes free of charge to the citizens on the occasion of the festival. An opportunity to shop, taste delicacies, and stroll through the decorated city centre.

A community tradition

For decades, the Epiphany Fair has been a fixed event on the Lissone calendar, attracting visitors from all over Brianza. The Municipality of Lissone issues the call for stall concessions every year, confirming the continuity of this event that combines commerce, tradition, and social interaction.

The day of Befana

On January 6th, Epiphany Day, the festival is often enhanced by the procession of the Magi that crosses the city centre, in a festive finale that ideally closes the Christmas period. The fair has free admission and takes place all day.
