A New Year's Walk in the Bassa Veronese

El Giro del Tartaro is a non-competitive walking race that takes place every January in Vigasio, in the province of Verona. The event takes its name from the Tartaro river, which flows through the Veronese plain, and follows flat routes through fields and countryside.

Two Routes for Everyone

The event offers two completely flat routes: a short one of 7 kilometers and a longer one of 13 kilometers, suitable for both experienced walkers and families. The meeting point and start are at the municipal sports facilities in Via Alzeri. Refreshment points are planned along the routes and at the finish, and awards are given to the largest groups.

Organization and Recognitions

The walk is organized by A.S.D. Olimpia Club Vigasio and is recognized by FIASP (Italian Federation of Amateurs Sports for All) and UMV (Union of Veronese Walkers). Included in the Veneto running calendar, it is one of the first walks of the year in the Veronese area, highly regarded by walking enthusiasts.
