EccoFidenza — Everything you don't expect

A series to discover Fidenza all year round

EccoFidenza — Everything you don't expect is the calendar of cultural and naturalistic experiences promoted by the Municipality of Fidenza through IAT-R Fidenza Casa Cremonini, as part of the tourism development project for the Terre di Verdi. Created to accompany residents and visitors in discovering the most authentic soul of the city — the ancient Borgo San Donnino, a historic stop on the Via Francigena — the series alternates guided tours of the historic center, walks in the nature of the Parma hills, and activities designed for children.

The Village between past and present — June 28, 2026

The highlight of the 2026 edition is the walk "The Village between past and present", scheduled for Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Starting from the monumental heart of the city, the tour offers a dialogue between Fidenza's great historical monuments and today's art spaces.

• Celestina Gallery (Piazza Duomo): workshop, exhibition area, and collaborative hub overlooking the cathedral's Antelami sculptures.
• Palazzo delle Orsoline (Via A. Costa): historic city building, now a vibrant cultural center, whose architectural and historical evolution the guide will illustrate.
• The exhibition "The Disasters of War: From Goya to Our Days", set up in the halls of the Palazzo delle Orsoline, which dialogues the legacy of the Spanish master with testimonies of contemporary conflicts.

A territory linked to the pilgrimage route and Verdi

Fidenza, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna and a few kilometers from Verdi's places, has been linked for centuries to the pilgrimage along the Via Francigena. The Romanesque Cathedral of San Donnino, the Magnani Theater, the Town Hall, and the churches in the center tell a stratification of stories that EccoFidenza brings to life with a narrative and accessible approach. The annual program also includes nature excursions among badlands, woods, and ridges, full moon walks, and workshops for children.

How to participate

All proposals take place by reservation and are confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of participants. The guided tours have a modest fee and represent a curated and convivial way to get to know Fidenza and the Province of Parma away from mass tourist circuits.
