Street Food Becomes a Championship

The European Street Food Awards are the European recognition dedicated to quality street food: born in 2017 on the initiative of BBC journalist Richard Johnson, they pit the best food trucks from 18 European countries against each other. In Codogno, in the Basso Lodigiano area of the province of Lodi, the first Italian semi-final will take place, organized by Eatinero in Piazza F.lli Cairoli.

Food Trucks, Music, and a Popular Jury

For three days, Codogno's central square transforms into a large street food market, with food trucks from all over Italy, live music, and a surrounding market. The competition mechanism combines the judgment of a technical jury with public voting: anyone, with a minimum purchase, can express their preference and help decide the winners. The two best food trucks from each Italian selection advance to the European final.

The Network of Italian Selections

The Codogno event is one of two Italian semi-finals: the second takes place in Padenghe sul Garda from May 22nd to 24th. Together, they form the path that leads Italian food trucks to compete with the best in Europe, in a competition that over the years has awarded entities like Rock Burger, Porcobrado, Fumetto, and Al Fuso Pugliese.

A Weekend of Taste with Free Admission

The event, with free admission, is part of Codogno's spring calendar and represents an opportunity to discover the best of Italian street food in a festive atmosphere. Between one specialty and another, music and entertainment accompany the public in Piazza Cairoli.
