The Easter Market in Piazza Walther

Every year, between Maundy Thursday and Easter Monday, the central Piazza Walther transforms into a village of wooden huts, decorated with fresh ivy and yellow and pink flowers, giving Bolzano's main square a festive and colorful atmosphere.

The entertainment program offers creative workshops where little ones learn to make decorations with natural materials, the traditional hard-boiled egg game Eierpecken (also called Koggele pecken), Easter egg hunts, as well as the unmissable nostalgic carousel and the little train. Accompanying the days is a musical program with live concerts, ranging from Alpine folk groups to classical music ensembles.

The Easter Market is part of the broader spring festival "Spring in the City", which enlivens Bolzano for several weeks. During the same period, other events take place in Piazza Walther, including the Bolzano in Fiore Arte exhibition and the historic Flower Festival, which transforms the square into an immense botanical garden animated by local florists at the end of April. Together, these events celebrate the arrival of the warm season in one of the most charming cities in the Alps.
