A new festival to welcome summer

The Early Summer Festival is one of the most recent additions to the village festival calendar in the Tiber Valley: a food and wine evening designed to welcome the warm season in the heart of Torrita Tiberina, a village in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in the Lazio region. The initiative is promoted by the Cultural Association of Torrita Tiberina, a local group active in village life, which created this event to foster a simple and genuine meeting point: good food, music, and dancing in the square, in an atmosphere of shared celebration.

The first edition in 2025

The festival debuted on Sunday, June 1, 2025, with a unique evening from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM in Piazza Don Agostino Mancini, in the town center. The association's invitation was clear and direct: bring friends, family, and plenty of enthusiasm. The chosen formula is the classic and always effective village square party, with the conviviality of the table accompanied by music and dancing until late, to inaugurate the summer season together.

Torrita Tiberina, a village overlooking the Tiber

Torrita Tiberina is a small village perched above a bend of the Tiber River, north of Rome, in a stretch of the valley with great landscape and natural value: the Tevere-Farfa Nature Reserve, a protected area beloved by hikers and birdwatchers, is located in the immediate vicinity. The town, with its compact historic center and view of the river, is an ideal destination for a day trip from the Capital, and its village festivals are the perfect opportunity to discover it at its most lively and welcoming.

What to expect from the festival

As per the tradition of Lazio festivals, the heart of the event is the table: a convivial food and wine experience served in the square, to be enjoyed in good company. The rest of the evening revolves around the food:

• Live music and dancing in the square until late;
• Festive atmosphere in the village's historic center;
• Village conviviality, with residents and visitors gathered around the same tables;
• Family-friendly vibe, suitable for all ages.

This is not a large mass event, but a festival on a village scale: therein lies its charm, in the possibility of experiencing an authentic evening in a corner of Lazio still little touched by mass tourism.

Information on the 2026 edition

At the moment, the 2026 edition of the Early Summer Festival has not yet been officially announced by the Cultural Association of Torrita Tiberina. Based on the first edition, the event would likely fall in early June, but dates and the program remain to be confirmed: we recommend following the social media channels of the association and the Municipality of Torrita Tiberina for official updates.
