About Duerive

Duerive — Festival of Stories is the literary and cultural event that brings Tricase to life every summer in the heart of the most authentic Salento. Through books, author meet-and-greets, singer-songwriter music, and collective storytelling, the festival transforms the city's historic landmarks—above all the evocative Castello dei Trane in the village of Tutino—into an open-air stage. Conceived by artistic directors Graziano Gala and Emanuele Bosso, it blends contemporary narrative voices, live performances, and local identity, always with free admission.

A festival of stories in Southern Salento

Duerive — Festival of Stories is one of the most anticipated cultural events of the summer in Tricase, a town in the Province of Lecce overlooking lower Salento, in Puglia. Established just a few years ago, the festival has quickly asserted itself as a meeting point for literature, music, and the local area, capable of attracting authors from the national scene to an intimate and evocative setting.

Books, music, and cross-pollination

The heart of the event is storytelling in all its forms: presentations of novels and magazines, dialogues with writers, readings, DJ sets, and concerts alternate throughout evenings that weave together "places, books, cross-pollination, and cultures." Each edition revolves around a theme that serves as a common thread for the meetings, with particular attention to contemporary narrative and singer-songwriter music.

The setting: Castello dei Trane in Tutino

The symbolic venue of the festival is the Castello dei Trane, in the hamlet of Tutino, one of the most characteristic fortified villages in the Tricase area. Its sixteenth-century walls and historic courtyards welcome the public outdoors, creating an intimate yet scenic atmosphere that is now part of the festival's identity.

Who organizes it

The festival is conceived and directed by Graziano Gala and Emanuele Bosso and is produced by the Duerive: Festival delle Storie APS association in partnership with the Proloco Tricase and with the support of the Regional Council of Puglia. Admission to all events is traditionally free, confirming the popular and inclusive vocation of the event.

A summer of culture in Tricase

Included in the rich summer calendar of the Municipality of Tricase and the Capo di Leuca area, Duerive represents an opportunity to experience Salento beyond the beaches: a slow, cultural tourism that enhances the villages, stories, and voices of this part of Puglia. For fans of reading, music, and live performance, it is one more reason to visit Tricase in the heart of summer.

The literary and cultural festival in Tricase is usually held in the second half of July, between the Castello dei Trane and the city's historic sites. The calendar and guests will be updated as soon as they are available.
