The international half marathon along the Brenta Riviera, between the Venetian villas and the Brenta Canal
The Dogi's Half Marathon is one of the most beloved half marathons in the Veneto region: an international race of 21.097 km, certified FIDAL in category A, which is run entirely on asphalted roads closed to traffic. The course, with start and finish in Fiesso d'Artico (Venice), forms a loop along the Brenta Riviera touching the municipalities of Dolo, Mira, Stra, and Vigonovo.
The route crosses the center of Mira along Via Nazionale and develops along the Brenta Canal, the ancient canal that connects Venice to Padua and along which Venetian nobles built their famous holiday villas. Running the Dogi's means moving through an open-air museum, among Villa Widmann, Villa dei Leoni, and the palaces that have made the history of this corner of the Venetian mainland.
Organized by A.S.D. Atletica Riviera del Brenta in collaboration with FIDAL, the Veneto Regional Committee, and the local municipalities, the event attracts over 2,000 athletes from all over Italy each year. Alongside the competitive race, there are non-competitive events and initiatives open to families and enthusiasts, making the run a true community celebration for the entire Brenta Riviera.
