Running through Venice
Venicemarathon is the international marathon of Venice, an event that attracts thousands of runners from all over the world every autumn. Its charm lies in the course: a route that connects the mainland to the lagoon and enters the very heart of the historic city, which is rare for a city marathon.
A unique course
The start is set at Villa Pisani, on the Riviera del Brenta, from where the marathon runners run along the Venetian villas until they reach the Ponte della Libertà and cross the lagoon. The final kilometers offer the greatest emotion: a sequence of bridges, on walkways set up for the occasion, lead the athletes to the finish line passing through iconic areas like the Zattere.
Four distances, one celebration
In addition to the 42 km marathon, the day offers the half marathon (21K), the 10K and the Family Run, designed to involve everyone. The event, organized by the Venicemarathon Club, transforms Venice and the Riviera del Brenta into a grand stage for sport, with the expo and bib collection at Parco San Giuliano in Mestre.
Venicemarathon — edition 2026
The 40th edition of Venicemarathon is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, and celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the first edition, held in 1986.
The "40th Wizz Air Venicemarathon" reintroduces the famous course from Villa Pisani to the Venetian finish line, with the four traditional distances and the expo at Parco San Giuliano in Mestre.

How to get there
The expo and bib collection are held at Parco San Giuliano in Mestre. The marathon start is at Villa Pisani (Stra), reachable by dedicated shuttle services. Venice is connected by train (Santa Lucia station) and by air (Marco Polo airport).
Registration
