Volcanic wines, live music, and culture in the village of Vignanello, in the heart of Tuscia
The Divino Music Festival – Sethe Vulcanica is the summer festival that celebrates the marriage of wine and music in the historic center of Vignanello, a village in the province of Viterbo nestled in the volcanic hills of Tuscia, in the Lazio region. For two consecutive evenings, the alleys, squares, and most picturesque corners of the town come alive with tasting stands, concerts, DJ sets, and street food. Visitors receive a wine glass to carry with them, allowing them to follow a free-roaming tasting path that winds through the village streets until late at night.
The oenological heart of the event is the Sethe Vulcanica circuit, a selection of over 50 labels from volcanic territories all over Italy, from Piedmont to Sicily, and from the Euganean Hills to Mount Etna. The tasting stands scattered along the route are complemented by themed guided tastings held at the Orto delle Capre by experts and food and wine journalists, including Carlo Zucchetti and Francesca Mordacchini Alfani, who explain what makes wines born from volcanic soils so unique. It is a natural tribute to Vignanello, a town with an ancient winemaking tradition whose vineyards grow on the very volcanic soils of the Cimini Mountains.
The musical program alternates between acoustic and chamber ensembles, live bands, and DJ sets. Recent editions have featured the Trio TreMisse (flute, mandolin, and clarinet), the Quartetto Eos on the terrace of the Castello Ruspoli, and live projects like Jorjia and Mr. Mojo, while DJ sets keep the energy high in Piazza della Repubblica until midnight. Music thus accompanies the oenological stroll, turning the village into a widespread stage.
The festival is also an opportunity to discover Vignanello's heritage. The program includes guided tours of the Castello Ruspoli, famous for its Italian-style garden, the Connutti — the underground tunnels running beneath the historic center — and the Museo DiVino, dedicated to local wine culture. There are also book presentations and taste workshops, such as the "Sapori in circolo" meeting dedicated to local gastronomy.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Vignanello with the support of the municipal administration, based on an oenological concept created with Carlo Zucchetti's food and wine magazine. Launched in 2023, the festival has grown rapidly to become one of the most anticipated summer events in Tuscia, successfully combining regional promotion, wine culture, and quality entertainment in an authentic Lazio village setting.
On Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026, the Divino Music Festival – Sethe Vulcanica returned to enliven the historic center of Vignanello, in the Viterbo Tuscia region, with two days dedicated to wine, music, and culture. The tasting path featured over 50 labels from Italian volcanic territories, from Piedmont to Sicily, accompanied by street food and a rich calendar of events.
Guided tastings at the Orto delle Capre featured Francesca Mordacchini Alfani and Sara Ronca, with a focus on volcanic wines, and Carlo Zucchetti with a meeting dedicated to the relationship between vines and volcanoes. On the musical front, the Trio TreMisse (flute, mandolin, and clarinet) performed in Piazza della Repubblica, the Quartetto Eos played on the terrace of the Castello Ruspoli, followed by live sets from Jorjia and Mr. Mojo, and DJ sets by D3N and Andrea Crocicchia to close the evenings. The program was completed by guided tours of the Castello Ruspoli, the Connutti, and the Museo DiVino, the "Sapori in circolo" workshop, and the presentation of the book "I Tarocchi di Marrò" by Romolo Sticchi.
Vignanello is located in the province of Viterbo, in northern Lazio. By car: take the A1 motorway, exit at Orte, then follow signs for Vasanello and Vignanello; it is about a 30-minute drive from Viterbo. The festival takes place in the historic center: parking is available in the areas surrounding the village.
Activities begin in the late afternoon (from 5:30 PM with guided tours) and continue until midnight with tastings, concerts, and DJ sets.
