Resistant Wines, Sustainable Vineyards
Discover PIWI is an enological evening held at Corte Zecchina, in the countryside of Piove di Sacco, in the province of Padua. The stars are PIWI wines (from the German pilzwiderstandsfähig, 'fungus-resistant'): varieties that adapt to the local climate and allow for a drastic reduction in vineyard treatments, with a focus on sustainable viticulture.
The Tasting
At the heart of the evening is Merlot Kanthus, accompanied by gastronomic pairings that enhance local flavors. An opportunity to learn about the characteristics of these still little-known wines and to understand why they represent one of the most interesting frontiers of contemporary enology, even in the Veneto region.
A Convivial Event
The event, hosted in the spaces of Corte Zecchina, combines curiosity for wine with the conviviality of a dinner among the vines: a small event with strong local roots, designed for enthusiasts and newcomers who want to approach the world of resistant wines in the Saccisica area.
