Polenta and renga, a traditional dish
The Festa di De la Renga is the event with which the Calmasino Alpini Group, a hamlet of Bardolino in the province of Verona, celebrates polenta and renga, i.e., polenta served with smoked herring. This is a dish from the popular Veronese and Venetian tradition, linked to the lean days of Lent, when renga represented an economical and lasting source of flavor for peasant families.
A moment of community
The festival takes place at the social headquarters of the Calmasino Alpini Group and maintains an intimate and convivial character: not a large tourist event, but a gathering of the local community, members, and friends of the group. The Alpini, with their historic vocation for service and solidarity, animate the evening in a warm and familiar atmosphere.

Included among the initiatives of the Calmasino Alpini Group of the ANA Section of Verona, the Festa di De la Renga helps to preserve the gastronomic traditions of the Garda area, in a village that experiences Lake Garda through its most authentic events, rooted in peasant memory.

The 2026 edition of the Festa di De la Renga marks the tenth edition of the event organized by the Calmasino Alpini Group. How to get there
Calmasino is a hilly hamlet of Bardolino, reachable from the A22 motorway (Affi exit) and from the internal roads towards Bardolino. The festival is held at the headquarters of the Calmasino Alpini Group.
