"Da Tutti i Paesi" Christmas and Easter Market at Casa Betania

A market that is much more than a showcase

The Christmas and Easter Market organized by the "Da Tutti i Paesi" charity workshop is one of the most cherished community events in the Pineta Sacchetti district of Rome. It is held inside Casa Betania, at 12 Via delle Calasanziane, right across from the Cristo Re hospital, and returns twice a year: during the weeks of Advent and the days leading up to Easter. It is far more than a simple market: every item on display tells the story of a woman's journey toward rebirth.

The workshop and Casa Betania

The workshop was founded in 1996 within the historic Casa Betania family home, managed by the Cooperativa L'Accoglienza Onlus, which supports Italian and migrant mothers in difficulty alongside their children. "Da Tutti i Paesi" offers women leaving the family home the opportunity to grow personally and professionally in a creative, safe environment, where they can learn a trade and regain their independence. Since 2018, the workshop has been permanently based within the Casa Betania premises, housing sewing, ceramics, painting, basketry, and jewelry-making activities.

What you will find at the stalls

The markets exclusively feature creations handmade by the artisan mothers with the help of volunteers. While the selection changes with the seasons, the attention to detail remains constant:

• Home textiles: kitchen and bathroom linens, potholders, aprons, cake carriers, and children's items;
• Handmade bags, accessories, and jewelry;
• Seasonal decorations for Christmas or Easter, gift wrapping, and small tokens;
• Lavender, soaps, and wellness products;
• Fair-trade products, including fair-trade Easter eggs during the spring edition.

Solidarity and fair trade

The market also carries a cultural mission: to promote the culture of fair trade within the neighborhood by pairing artisan crafts with food products from the fair-trade circuit. Every purchase directly supports the reception project and the autonomy paths of the mothers at Casa Betania: it is a simple and tangible way to give a gift that carries double the value.

A staple of the 14th Municipality

Recognized as one of the charitable initiatives of Rome Capital in the Lazio region, the market has become a heartwarming tradition for the residents of Pineta Sacchetti and the surrounding Aurelio and Boccea areas. Easily accessible from the Aurelia or Boccea exits of the Grande Raccordo Anulare, it welcomes families, curious visitors, and supporters in a cozy, domestic atmosphere where people love to stop and chat with the artisans.
