Every December, in the Aurelio district of Rome (Municipality XIII), the two covered local markets, Irnerio and San Silverio, shed their daily role as grocery hubs to become vibrant festive stages. The "Christmas at the Markets" initiative is part of "Natale in Tredicesimo", a rich program of Christmas events through which the Municipality XIII of Rome enlivens the squares, markets, and community spaces of the area.

Music, workshops, and shows for everyone

Between the stalls and aisles of the two covered markets, you will find live music, creative workshops, shows, and activities specifically designed for children and families. It is a neighborhood-scale Christmas—informal and welcoming—where the Aurelio community gathers in the same places where they shop all year round. Admission to all events is free.

Where it takes place

The events are held at the covered local markets of Irnerio and San Silverio, in the Aurelio district, near Via Gregorio VII and just a short walk from Vatican City. The indoor setting ensures that events can proceed even in case of bad weather, as has been done in the past by reorganizing certain activities to ensure the festivities continue for the little ones.
