A festival that makes Cupra's summer sing

The Cupra Musica Festival is one of the most established cultural events in Cupra Marittima, a seaside town on the Riviera delle Palme in the province of Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region. Founded in the early 2000s, the festival has surpassed its twentieth edition and has established itself as the main musical event of the Cupra summer, capable of alternating major opera titles with operetta evenings, classical music concerts, jazz incursions, and dance performances.

Music in the most beautiful places in the area

The distinctive feature of the Cupra Musica Festival is the close link between music and the places that host it. The most important performances, particularly operas and operettas, are staged in the scenic garden of Villa Cellini, while the historic Villa Boccabianca hosts more intimate and chamber music concerts. Over the years, the festival has also brought music to the beach, with evocative sunrise concerts overlooking the sea, and to other panoramic spots in the municipality, highlighting the most charming corners of Cupra Marittima and its hinterland.

Between great repertoire and a desire to experiment

The festival's program has always focused on a formula that combines accessibility and quality. Alongside the most beloved melodrama titles, such as Turandot and Carmen, there have been operettas – with productions like Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow – and fusions between different genres, from baroque music to contemporary repertoire. A feature appreciated by the public is the presence of short narrations that introduce and accompany the opera performances, helping even the less experienced to enter the plot and atmosphere of the operas.

An event promoted by the city

The Cupra Musica Festival is promoted by the Municipality of Cupra Marittima together with the local Pro Loco (Tourist Board), involving local companies and artists. Steadily included in the summer events calendar of the Province of Ascoli Piceno, it represents an opportunity for residents and tourists to experience outdoor culture on summer evenings in one of the most beloved locations on the Marche coast.
