A Bach recital for solo violin on the ridges of the Bolognese Apennines
The Crinali Festival is one of the most original cultural experiences in the Bolognese Apennines: not a program of concerts confined to a theater, but an intertwining of walks, landscapes, and performances that transforms villages, trails, and ridges into open-air stages. The Creda stop, a small hamlet in the Municipality of Castiglione dei Pepoli, in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, is entirely dedicated to music for solo violin.
On Friday, June 12, 2026, from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, violinist Anton Bevoski will perform one of the absolute peaks of the violin repertoire: Johann Sebastian Bach's Partita No. 2 in D minor (BWV 1004), the work that concludes with the very famous Chaconne. Listening to this piece outdoors, in the silence of the mountains with the Apennine landscape all around, is a very different experience from listening in a hall: the place is not just a backdrop, but becomes part of the performance itself.
In 2026, reaching its tenth edition, Crinali runs from late May to mid-October with over sixty performances spread across fourteen municipalities in the Bolognese Apennines, including theater, cinema, circus, and music. Many events are preceded by a guided walk that leads the audience to the venue; the offerings are organized by difficulty and type, from easy walks suitable for families to full-day sporting treks. The musical artistic direction is entrusted, among others, to Carlo Maver and Claudio Carboni, while the event is coordinated by the Union of Municipalities of the Bolognese Apennines.
Castiglione dei Pepoli is located in the upper Setta and Brasimone valley, straddling Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany, along the historic routes that cross the Apennines. Creda, with its secluded village, is the ideal place for an evening concert that combines nature, contemplation, and high-level music. For many spectators, the evening becomes a double discovery: the great Bach and a little-known corner of the Emilia-Romagna Apennines.
The 2026 stop in Creda, a hamlet of Castiglione dei Pepoli, is dedicated to solo violin and is part of the tenth edition of the Crinali Festival (from late May to mid-October, over 60 performances in 14 municipalities of the Bolognese Apennines).
The concert will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with free admission.
