A concert on the ridges of the Bologna Apennines

Among the many stops of the Crinali Festival, the one in Baragazza is one of the most intimate and evocative. Baragazza is a hamlet of the Municipality of Castiglione dei Pepoli, in the Metropolitan City of Bologna (Emilia-Romagna), a village in the high Apennines where the mountains, woods, and silence become part of the spectacle. Here, in the church of San Michele Arcangelo, solo violin music finds a perfect acoustic and architectural setting, far from the noise of the plains.

The protagonist of the evening is Francesco Giorgi, violinist, composer, arranger, and actor, who presents a concert designed for the intimate space of the church. The program intertwines instrumental performance and narrative dimension, in the spirit of Crinali, where each event is an encounter between landscape, community, and artistic languages. The event is on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with free admission.

Crinali, the Apennine festival

The Baragazza stop is part of the tenth edition of Crinali (2026), which runs from May 27 to October 17 with over 60 performances distributed across 14 municipalities in the Bologna Apennines. The festival offers music (classical, jazz, electronic, world music), theater, cinema, and circus along the trails and in the villages of the area, and is organized by the Union of Municipalities of the Bologna Apennines together with the Metropolitan City and the Municipality of Bologna, with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region.

Crinali is a widespread festival: some events include a walk to reach the performance venue, with mandatory booking and limited seats, while concerts in the villages and churches — like the one in Baragazza — are more easily accessible.
