A festival dedicated to craft beer in the heart of Cilento

The Craft Beer Festival in Roccagloriosa is a summer event created to give visibility to small breweries in the Cilento and lower Salerno areas. Two August evenings, one main square, local microbrewery taps, and Cilento street food: the formula is simple, yet it was an immediate success, so much so that the event was already firmly established by its second edition, held on August 16 and 17, 2025. In an area where the craft beer scene is still emerging, an event like this has the merit of connecting producers directly with the public in an informal, accessible setting.

Piazza Europa, the heart of the event

The festival takes place in Piazza Europa, the largest public space in the town of Roccagloriosa, in the province of Salerno, Campania. The square is equipped with beer taps, food stalls, and a stage for music: guests eat and drink while standing or sitting at tables, moving from one stand to another. It is the same square that hosts other summer events in the village, making it an instantly recognizable landmark for locals and visitors from neighboring towns.

The featured craft breweries

In the 2025 edition, the festival hosted three local craft breweries:

• Birrificio Artigianale FieJ Cilento, a Cilento-based producer;
• Microbirrificio84030, a microbrewery that incorporates its local postal code into its name;
• Maltopiù, with its own selection of craft beers.

The choice to focus on a few local producers rather than a large industrial list is the hallmark of the event: the person pouring the beer is often the one who brewed it, allowing for informal conversations about styles, raw materials, and fermentation processes.

Cilento street food

Alongside the beer taps, the culinary side is entrusted to Cilento street food. The 2025 menu featured pork arrosticini, grilled caciocavallo cheese, fries, and sausage or hot dog sandwiches: simple dishes designed to accompany the tasting and be enjoyed while strolling through the square. This type of offering makes these events accessible to families and groups of friends, without the formality of a guided tasting.

Live music

Each evening is accompanied by musical entertainment. In 2025, performances included Obsession on August 16 and Riserva Moac on August 17, a band that blends traditional folk sounds with modern influences. The music continues until late, giving the event the typical rhythm of summer village festivals in Cilento, where the square remains lively long after dinner ends.

Roccagloriosa, between the National Park and ancient Lucania

Roccagloriosa is a small town of just over 1,500 inhabitants, nestled at an altitude of about 430 meters in the hinterland of the Gulf of Policastro, within the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1998. The village preserves an ancient history: the local Antiquarium houses artifacts from the Lucanian era, including materials from the 4th-3rd century BC that testify to the civil organization of the ancient settlement. Notable historical churches include the Church of San Giovanni and the Church of the Gloriosa, while the patron saint, Saint John the Baptist, is celebrated on June 24. The hamlet of Acquavena is also part of the municipal territory.

Attending the Craft Beer Festival means combining an evening of beer and local cuisine with the discovery of a village that, in August, is just a few kilometers from the most popular beaches of lower Cilento but still retains a genuine village atmosphere. It is an event tailored for the curious visitor: arrive in the late afternoon, explore the historic center at your leisure, and head down to the square when the temperature drops and the beer starts flowing.

2026 Edition

As of the update of this page, no official calendar has been published for the 2026 edition of the festival. The two previous editions took place in mid-August: those wishing to attend can follow the social media channels of the organizing association and the involved breweries, where dates are usually announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
