The road race in the heart of the Nebrodi village
CorriSinagra is a road running race that transforms the historic center of Sinagra, a town in the Nebrodi mountains in the Province of Messina, into a vibrant loop of energy every summer. Created to showcase the village through sport, the event is organized by ASD Podistica Capo d'Orlando as part of the official FIDAL calendar and attracts athletes from all over Sicily and various regions of Italy.
The heart of the race is a city circuit of approximately 1,200 meters, entirely closed to traffic, with the start and finish line on Via Umberto Corica, just a few steps from the town hall. Absolute categories (masters and seniors) complete six laps, for a total of about 7.2 km, tackling the climbs, descents, and tight corners that make this track both technical and spectacular. The layout of the village, with its narrow streets, allows the public to follow the athletes closely, lap after lap.
Alongside the competitive race, CorriSinagra offers a non-competitive walk of about 2.4 km (two laps of the circuit), open to everyone, and a series of races reserved for children and teenagers, divided by age group with a reduced number of laps. This is how the event combines the competitive spirit of trained runners with family fun in a popular festive atmosphere.
The mid-August date places CorriSinagra in the midst of the town's summer celebrations, when the village fills with residents and visitors. The race thus becomes part of the liveliest days of the Sinagra summer, amidst gastronomic events and convivial moments that highlight the flavors and traditions of the Nebrodi.
Nestled along the Naso stream valley, Sinagra is a village in the Messina hinterland immersed in the greenery of the Nebrodi Park. Reaching the town means traveling through hilly and wooded landscapes, a short distance from the Tyrrhenian coast. For those who love to run, CorriSinagra is also an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of inland Sicily, far from the most crowded destinations.
The 8th edition of CorriSinagra is set for Monday, August 17, 2026, in the historic center of Sinagra, in the province of Messina. The date was made official by ASD Podistica Capo d'Orlando immediately after the 2025 edition. As is tradition, the race is expected to feature the usual city circuit closed to traffic, with the competitive event over the distance for absolute categories, the non-competitive walk, and races dedicated to children. The official program with times, the final route, and registration methods has not yet been released at the time of this publication.
Sinagra is located in the Nebrodi hinterland, in the province of Messina. By car, it can be reached from the A20 Messina-Palermo motorway, taking the Brolo-Capo d'Orlando exit and then continuing inland. The nearest train station is Brolo-Capo d'Orlando on the Tyrrhenian line, from which you can continue by car or local connections.
Registration for the competitive race takes place through the FIDAL procedure and the organizing club, ASD Podistica Capo d'Orlando. The non-competitive walk and children's races are open to everyone. It is recommended to check the club's channels and Sicilian running portals for regulations, schedules, and updated fees.
The circuit winds through the historic center, which is closed to traffic: arrive early for parking and to verify your registration. In August, evening temperatures are pleasant, ideal for running and enjoying the atmosphere of the village.
