About Corri San Mauro

Corri San Mauro is the spring running event held in the town of San Mauro Torinese, just outside the Piedmontese capital. Organized by ASD Olimpiatletica with the support of the municipal administration, it features a 9.6 km competitive race and a 6 km non-competitive fun run, both starting and finishing in Piazza Gramsci. Part of the 'Provincia TO che Corre' provincial circuit and linked to the Argotec Trophy, the event combines athletic competition with a strong charitable mission, donating a portion of the proceeds to cancer research.

A spring race at the gates of Turin

The Corri San Mauro – Argotec Trophy is the spring running appointment in the Municipality of San Mauro Torinese, a populous town in the Turin metropolitan area overlooking the Po river, in the Province of Turin and the heart of Piedmont. Established in 2023, the event has grown rapidly to become one of the most anticipated road races in the metropolitan spring calendar, attracting hundreds of registered athletes and thousands of recreational runners.

The course and the events

The nerve center of the event is Piazza Gramsci, where all races start and finish. The course, completely flat and featuring a mix of asphalt and dirt paths, winds through the town center and the green spaces along the Po river. The day includes:

  • a 9.6 km competitive race, valid as a circuit event;
  • a non-competitive race on the same course;
  • a 6 km fun run/walk, open to families, children, and walkers of all levels.

The Argotec Trophy and the provincial circuit

The race is linked to the Argotec Trophy, named after the local aerospace company and main sponsor of the event, which gives the race a 'space' identity, also reflected in the design of the yellow-and-black technical t-shirt reserved for early registrants. Corri San Mauro is also part of the 'Provincia TO che Corre' running circuit, which brings together the main road races in the Turin area.

Sport and solidarity

Alongside the competitive aspect, the event has a strong charitable vocation: part of the registration fees for the non-competitive race is donated to cancer research (AIRC Foundation). The race also hosts the Paola Iacovelli Memorial, dedicated to the memory of a figure dear to the local community, confirming the event's deep roots in the town's social fabric.

An event for the whole town

Organized by ASD Olimpiatletica in collaboration with the municipal administration of San Mauro Torinese, Corri San Mauro is much more than a running race: it is a local festival that enlivens the town center for a May morning, involving shops, volunteers, and associations, and transforming Piazza Gramsci into a meeting point for athletes, families, and spectators. A simple and genuine way to experience outdoor sports in one of the most dynamic towns in the Turin area.
