The Coro Nosc Concert in Mazzin

The Coro Nosc Concert is one of the summer musical evenings that bring the village of Mazzin and its hamlets of Campestrin and Fontanazzo to life, in the heart of Val di Fassa, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Organized by the Antermoia Cultural Association, the event brings the voice of a mountain choir to an intimate setting, where folk singing meets the Dolomite landscape.

The Coro Nosc of Soraga

The star of the evening is the Coro Nosc of Soraga di Fassa, a male-voice choir founded in 2015 by two friends. The name, in the Ladin language, means "our choir": a project that started small, born from the love of a few, to be shared with the entire community. Starting with just a handful of singers, the group has grown over the years in both the number of voices and its repertoire.

Under the direction of maestro Peter Decrestina, who is dedicated to researching and arranging the pieces, the choir performs a repertoire consisting mainly of rare folk songs and original compositions in the Ladin language, giving voice to the tradition that defines these mountain valleys. As their motto states, the Coro Nosc brings to the stage "a gram of voice and a kilo of heart." The group is a member of the Trentino Choir Federation (Federazione Cori del Trentino ETS).

Atmosphere and Program

The event takes place in the evening, usually starting at 9:00 PM, and is free to attend. The program alternates between traditional mountain songs, Ladin pieces, and meticulously crafted vocal harmonies, in a performance that focuses on precision and delicacy rather than spectacle. It is an event perfectly suited for both residents and tourists vacationing in Val di Fassa who wish to discover an authentic and intimate side of Ladin culture.

Mazzin and Val di Fassa

The Municipality of Mazzin, including the hamlets of Campestrin and Fontanazzo, is one of the Ladin villages of Val di Fassa, nestled among some of the most famous peaks of the Dolomites. During the summer, the local calendar, also promoted by the Antermoia Cultural Association, offers concerts, country festivals, and events that celebrate the musical traditions and the Ladin language of the valley, including this choral concert.
