Spring sailing in the Adriatic
The Coppa Primavera is the regatta that opens the offshore sailing season in the waters of Chioggia, a lagoon city in the province of Venice. Organized by Il Portodimare in collaboration with the Yacht Club Padova and with the support of the Darsena Le Saline, it takes place over two days in mid-May.
Classes and format
The ORC (divisions B-C), ORC Light, and Meteor classes compete on the water, with the latter also awarding points valid for the Meteor zonal championship. The regatta includes a series of races on both days, weather permitting, with a classification by class.
A maritime tradition
The Coppa Primavera confirms Chioggia's role as one of the most vibrant centers for sailing in the Upper Adriatic, alongside Venice and the Venetian lagoon. Between light winds and ideal breezes, the event combines sporting competition and passion for the sea, attracting crews from all over the Veneto region.
Coppa Primavera — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Coppa Primavera took place in the waters of Chioggia on May 16 and 17. Saturday, marked by unstable winds, allowed for only one race; Sunday, with ideal conditions, added three more. Competing were the ORC (B-C), ORC Light, and Meteor classes, the latter also valid as a zonal championship. Organized by Il Portodimare with the Yacht Club Padova and Darsena Le Saline.

Classes and winners
- Meteor: Engy (Stefano Pistore, Silvio Sambo, Stefano Penzo), winner after a comeback from fifth place with three consecutive victories
- ORC: Adriatica (Damiano Desirò)
- ORC Light: Sanlui (Patrick Bassan)
A total of four valid races for the standings, with the Meteor also serving as the zonal championship.

How to get there
Chioggia can be reached by car via the SS309 Romea or the A4 motorway (Padova Est exit, then SR516). Darsena Le Saline is located in the city's port area.
