About Venice Hospitality Challenge

A unique regatta in the world: Maxi Yacht boats parade and race entirely within the city, between St. Mark's Basin and the Giudecca Canal. The Venice Hospitality Challenge combines elite sailing sport, luxury, and lifestyle, pairing each hull with a historic Venetian hospitality structure. A spectacle to be admired from the banks, free of charge, with St. Mark's Basilica and Campanile as a backdrop.

A regatta that crosses Venice

The Venice Hospitality Challenge is considered the only regatta in the world that takes place entirely within the internal waters of a city. The Maxi Yachts, hulls ranging from 52 to 100 feet (16-30 meters), compete on an exclusive city course that touches the St. Mark's Basin and the Giudecca Canal, offering spectators on the banks an unparalleled spectacle.

Sailing, luxury, and hospitality

The event, conceived and organized by the Yacht Club Venezia led by president Mirko Sguario, has an original formula: each boat is paired with a prestigious luxury Venetian hospitality structure. Historic hotels like the Danieli, Ca' Sagredo, and Palazzina G race alongside yachts like Adriatic Europa, Shining, and Pegaso, merging sporting competition, hospitality excellence, and the city's image.

An autumn appointment in Venice

The regatta is held in Venice (province and metropolitan city of Venice, Veneto) and is now an autumn classic of the lagoon. The trophy awarded is the famous "Corno del Doge" made of Murano glass, a symbol that links the event to Venetian artistic craftsmanship. The boats are visible at their floating moorings in the days preceding the challenge.

Venice Hospitality Challenge — edition 2026

The 13th edition of the Venice Hospitality Challenge is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, in St. Mark's Basin. The Maxi Yachts return to race in the heart of Venice, each paired with a luxury hospitality structure in the city, in a challenge that combines sailing, hospitality, and lifestyle.

The 13th edition of the Venice Hospitality Challenge takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, confirming the autumn appointment with Maxi Yachts in the waters of St. Mark's Basin. The event is organized by Yacht Club Venezia. In the preceding days, the boats are visible at their floating moorings along the Giudecca Canal, while the awards ceremony is held at the Zattere dock with the presentation of the "Corno del Doge" Murano glass trophy.
