A jazz series in the heart of Borgo Ticino

Conversazioni in Jazz is the flagship event of the Musical Salons at Antica Casa Balsari cycle, a series held in the library of Antica Casa Balsari, a historic 1695 residence in the municipality of Borgo Ticino, in the province of Novara, in the heart of Piedmont. The concept is simple yet original: transforming the listening experience into a shared moment where the boundary between artist and audience almost disappears.

Not just a concert, but a musical salon

Unlike a traditional concert, there is no auditorium seating here: the audience becomes part of a true musical salon, sitting just a meter away from the musicians. The evenings alternate music with storytelling, featuring anecdotes about travel experiences, encounters, improvisation, and artistic life—from early beginnings to major stages and hidden behind-the-scenes moments. To ensure an authentic and participatory atmosphere, only 25 seats are available.

The 2026 evenings

The 2026 edition featured two appointments, both starting at 9:00 PM. On March 20th, trumpeter Fabio Buonarota and jazz guitarist Lorenzo Cominoli took the stage. On May 15th, it was the turn of Achille Succi, one of the most acclaimed performers in European jazz, once again accompanied by Lorenzo Cominoli.

Alto Piemonte wine and hospitality

Each evening is accompanied by a glass of Alto Piemonte wine, highlighting the connection with the local territory. Entry is by voluntary, conscious donation, with mandatory reservation required due to the limited capacity.

Antica Casa Balsari

The 1695 residence hosting the series is a place with a strong identity: today a cultural center, it offers concerts, shows, training courses, and conferences, also thanks to its collaboration with the Le Dimore del Quartetto network. The historic setting of the library helps create that cozy atmosphere that is the hallmark of Conversazioni in Jazz, an event that enriches the cultural landscape of Borgo Ticino and the entire Novara province.
