About Controluce

For one night, Controluce Fest transforms the ancient village of Felline, a hamlet of Alliste, into an immersive trail of art, light, and music. Videomapping, light installations, acrobatic performances, and live concerts bring squares, courtyards, and the Baronial Castle to life in a free, multidisciplinary event that unites local and international artists. Now a historic Salento tradition, the festival is dedicated to rediscovering the historic center through the language of light.

Controluce Fest: The Night of Light in Felline

Controluce Fest is an art, light, and music festival that lights up the ancient village of Fellineโ€”a hamlet of the municipality of Alliste in the province of Lecce, in the heart of lower Salentoโ€”every September. For one night only, the squares, courtyards, and alleys of the historic center turn into an open-air museum, where light installations, videomapping, live performances, and concerts interact with the village's stone architecture.

An immersive journey through art and light

The core of the event lies in the relationship between light and urban space: the public is free to wander through the village, following an itinerary that touches Felline's iconic landmarks, from the Baronial Castle to Piazza Castello, and from Corte Trianni and Largo Chiesa to Piazza Caduti. Each stop offers a unique artistic language: videomapping projections on facades, interactive light installations, visual art, aerial and acrobatic dance, mime, and fire shows.

Music and live performance

Alongside the visual arts, Controluce dedicates significant space to live music, with concerts ranging from singer-songwriter sets to electronic sounds and traditional Salento folk music, often accompanied by DJ sets and dance moments like the tango milonga under the stars. The program blends local talent with national and international guests, with a special focus on experimentation and cross-genre contamination.

A deeply rooted local event

Created to enhance the historical and architectural heritage of Felline, the event is promoted by the Municipality of Alliste through the Department of Culture and Entertainment, under the artistic direction of Andrea Rizzo and organized by the ARTEN association. Over the years, Controluce has become one of the most anticipated cultural events of the Salento summer, capable of attracting thousands of visitors and breathing new life into the ancient village.

Free admission

Access to Controluce Fest is free: all installations, performances, and concerts can be enjoyed freely while strolling through the streets of Felline's historic center, in an experience designed for families, art lovers, and curious visitors of all ages.
