Theater on the Staircase
Commedia Castellana is the theater festival that enlivens the summer of Marostica (province of Vicenza, Veneto) by bringing open-air performances to the Scalinata dei Carmini, one of the most evocative settings in the historic center. The staircase is transformed into a natural auditorium for evenings of brilliant and authorial theater, in an intimate and cozy atmosphere.
Quality Companies and Direction
The event, organized by the association Teatris APS, offers curated productions each year, with texts from the best contemporary dramaturgy and high-level direction. The open-air performance takes place in the evening and, in case of rain, is moved indoors to the Don Bosco Oratory Theater.

Commedia Castellana is now a well-established event in the cultural calendar of the Municipality of Marostica, capable of combining the quality of theater with the beauty of the historic walled town.
Commedia Castellana — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Commedia Castellana features Naufraghi, six comic acts by Mattia Torre directed by Maurizio Panici, on stage Saturday, June 20th at 9:15 PM on the Scalinata dei Carmini. On stage, among the performers, are Fabrizio Bernar and Lidia Bordignon. The show, organized by Teatris APS, is offered at affordable prices. In case of bad weather, the performance will be moved to the Don Bosco Oratory Theater. Other dates for the festival are to be confirmed.

How to get there
Marostica is reachable by car from the A31 motorway (exit Dueville or Thiene-Schio) towards Bassano del Grappa. The nearest train station is Bassano del Grappa (about 8 km). The performance takes place on the Scalinata dei Carmini, in the historic center.
Tickets
Affordable tickets, with full and reduced prices. In case of rain, the performance is moved to the Don Bosco Oratory Theater.
