Colli del Tronto Plants, Flowers, Wicker, and Bamboo Fair

A fair that heralds spring

Every first Sunday of March, the historic center of Colli del Tronto, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, transforms into a large open-air garden. For almost forty years, the Plants, Flowers, Wicker, and Bamboo Fair has been the event that symbolically opens the warm season in southern Marche: a perfect opportunity for a stroll through the village alleys, breathing in the scents of earth, flowers, and woven wood.

Roots in the tradition of Santa Felicita

The event has its origins in an ancient fair linked to the celebration of Santa Felicita Martire, the patron saint of the Municipality, celebrated on March 7th. In the past, this fair was dedicated to the buying and selling of livestock and agricultural products, following a rural calendar that marked the life of the community. Starting from 1987, the event took on a new character, dedicating itself to the world of plants, flowers, wicker, and bamboo, and has faithfully repeated every first Sunday of March ever since.

What to find at the fair

Along the streets of the center, you'll find stalls from nursery gardeners and artisans, with an offering that combines nature and artistic crafts:

• Seasonal plants and flowers, for gardens and vegetable patches, to prepare balconies and flowerbeds for spring;
• Wicker and bamboo crafts, woven baskets and artifacts that recall the traditional craftsmanship from which the fair takes its name;
• Agri-food products from the main producers in the Piceno area;
• workshops, entertainment, and activities for children.

Between nature, research, and community

Over the years, the fair has complemented its exhibition aspect with moments of in-depth discussion and culture. The 2026 edition featured the seminar “Research for the Future of Agri-food”, dedicated to scientific innovation applied to agriculture, environmental sustainability, and opportunities for new generations. In past editions, the day has also been enriched by traveling groups of street performers, acrobats, and jugglers, and by visits to the town's cultural sites, confirming the community festival character that has always distinguished this event in the Marche Region.
