About Coccobello

Coccobello is the summer music and culture festival that enlivens the Cloister of San Rocco every June, in the heart of Carpi, in the province of Modena. Curated by the Circolo Culturale Kalinka in collaboration with ARCI Zona Carpi, it offers about ten evenings of live concerts ranging from singer-songwriters to jazz, from folk to electronic music, from tributes to great Italian music to experimental sounds. Admission is by free donation, with the characteristic Coccobar open until late at night. An event loved by the city, part of the LaCarpiEstate program.

Coccobello: Carpi's summer music

Coccobello is one of the most anticipated events of the Carpi summer: for about two weeks in June, the evocative Cloister of San Rocco, in the historic center of Carpi (province of Modena, Emilia-Romagna), transforms into an open-air stage dedicated to live music and cultural events. Curated by the Circolo Culturale Kalinka in collaboration with ARCI Zona Carpi, the festival has won a loyal audience thanks to its intimate, welcoming, and voluntary contribution formula.

A program spanning genres and styles

The Coccobello lineup is deliberately diverse and covers many contemporary music styles: Italian singer-songwriters, jazz, folk, electronic music, auteur music, and experimentation, without forgetting beloved tributes to the greats of Italian and international music. Each evening features a different concert, giving space to both well-known names and emerging and research-based projects.

  • Live concerts every evening in the cloister
  • Singer-songwriters, jazz, folk, electronic music, and tributes
  • Intimate and cozy atmosphere in the historic courtyard
  • Coccobar with craft beers, wines, cocktails, and ice cream

A place that makes a difference

The setting is an integral part of the experience: the Cloister of San Rocco, on Via San Rocco, offers a secluded and cool environment where music is enjoyed while sitting under the arches. The presence of the Coccobar, active until late at night with local products and artisanal specialties, makes the evenings an occasion for socializing as well as listening.

Part of LaCarpiEstate

Coccobello is part of the rich program of LaCarpiEstate, the series that enlivens the Municipality of Carpi for months with music, theater, cinema, readings, and events, spread across the historic center, parks, and hamlets. The festival enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Carpi and the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Carpi, confirming its deep roots in the city's cultural life.

Why it's worth it

With its free admission by donation, the variety of its offerings, and the unique atmosphere of the cloister, Coccobello is the ideal opportunity to experience summer evenings in Carpi with good music, culture, and conviviality, in one of the most beautiful places in the historic center of Modena.
