The summer classical music festival by the Camerata Musicale Salentina, featuring concerts and wine tastings in the heart of Lecce.
In the height of the Salento summer, the Camerata Musicale Salentina transforms the Sala Giardino in Lecce into a refined open-air lounge. Classica d'Estate & Wine is the summer festival dedicated to classical music that, year after year, guides the audience of the Apulian capital through a series of evening concerts immersed in the greenery and tranquility of a hidden space tucked away in the historic center, on Via Lino Suppressa, just a stone's throw from Via Petraglione.
The hallmark of the festival is the encounter between two pleasures: listening and conviviality. Each concert is preceded by a tasting of wines from the Casa Vinicola Apollonio, a historic local winery, offered to the public in the garden before the music begins. It is a ritual that makes every evening a complete experience, where Apulian oenological excellence engages in a dialogue with musical excellence.
The program primarily showcases young performers, many of whom are winners of prestigious national and international competitions, in diverse chamber ensembles: piano recitals, guitar and bandoneón duos, mandolin and piano, saxophone quartets, string trios, and even opera arias for voice and piano. The repertoire ranges from the great Romantic 19th century to the 20th century, from Spanish and South American music to Italian bel canto, offering a different color and atmosphere each evening.
The festival is part of the extensive activities of the Camerata Musicale Salentina, one of the longest-running concert institutions in Puglia, and is integrated into its historic Concert Season. Classica d'Estate & Wine serves as its summer appendix, designed to bring great music into a more intimate and convivial dimension, accessible to both enthusiasts and the curious.
With affordable ticket prices and subscription options, the event appeals to a broad and diverse audience, from music lovers to the tourists who flock to Lecce in the summer. Supported by the Municipality of Lecce, the Apulia Region, and the Ministry of Culture, the festival is now a permanent fixture of the cultural summer in the capital of Salento, capable of combining artistic quality, local roots, and that taste for beauty that characterizes the Baroque city.
