The games and comics festival in Civita Castellana
Civitonix is the event dedicated to gaming and comics that brings Civita Castellana to life every June, in the province of Viterbo, in the heart of the Lazio Tuscia. Established in 2023 by the Jo.In. - Tana dei Goblin association of Civita Castellana, the event has grown edition after edition to become a landmark for fans of board games, comics, and pop culture in central Italy.
The festival is hosted in the Bosco Primo Maggio (May 1st Park), a large green space in the town of Civita Castellana that turns into an immersive village for an entire weekend. In the shade of the pine forest, you will find gaming tables, stalls, a market, and a food area, all in an atmosphere designed to welcome enthusiasts, curious visitors, and families.
The festival is organized into several themed areas covering all facets of the gaming and comic book world:
Each edition brings prominent national and international guests from the world of comics and gaming to Civita Castellana. Notable names who have enriched the program include illustrator Sara Pichelli, co-creator of Miles Morales, and game author and journalist Andrea Angiolino. The calendar includes talks, conferences, prototype presentations, tournaments, and activities for all ages.
One of the hallmarks of Civitonix is free admission: the event is designed as a festival open to the city and the surrounding area, capable of attracting thousands of visitors. The 2025 edition exceeded 6,000 attendees over two days, confirming the festival's role in the landscape of events dedicated to comics and gaming in Lazio.
