The celebration of civil society in Cinisello Balsamo

Civil Week is the event that, every spring, ignites public debate in Cinisello Balsamo, in the Metropolitan City of Milan. For seven days, the city networks its associative fabric — social cooperatives, schools, volunteer groups, and the Casa della Cittadinanza — to reflect together on the meaning of living together. It is the local version of Milan Civil Week, the major event that involves the entire north Milanese hinterland.

The 2026 theme: the society of trust

The 2026 edition is titled 'Together. The society of trust' and revolves around building bonds and relationships. The common thread is trust as the glue of the community, explored through conferences, round tables, and workshops. The main meeting, 'Building bonds and generating relationships: alliances for and with the territories', is held at Villa Ghirlanda, while the debate 'Being volunteers today' enlivens the closing morning at Villa Casati Stampa.

A widespread program

The calendar is intentionally diverse and designed for all ages: creative activities for children, female empowerment paths, discussions on the digital world, nature walks, solidarity second-hand markets, and bike rides through the city streets. The 2026 edition takes on special significance thanks to two important local anniversaries: the thirtieth anniversary of Auser and the twenty-fifth anniversary of Anteas, two historic local volunteer organizations.

A local initiative

Promoted by the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo together with the Casa della Cittadinanza and dozens of local associations, Civil Week is much more than a series of meetings: it is a way to showcase the best of the city, the part that cares for others. The main venues are the two historic city villas, Villa Ghirlanda Silva and Villa Casati Stampa di Soncino, the cultural heart of this Municipality in the Province of Milan.
