Edition 2025 — Cioncone Bean Festival
The fortieth edition, November 1st, 2025
The 2025 edition of the Cioncone Bean Festival took place on Saturday, November 1st, All Saints' Day, marking the milestone of the fortieth edition. From 1:00 PM, the Piazza della Peschiera in Vivaro Romano filled up for the distribution of dishes based on the prized local legume: pasta e fagioli, stewed beans with sausages, and, in the afternoon, the inevitable roasted chestnuts with red wine. Participation was free, with reservations recommended at the Pro Loco number; in case of bad weather, the former nursery school hall was provided. The previous evening, October 31st, the village hosted "Vivar...oween," the evening of pumpkin carving according to ancient local customs. A festival that confirmed the deep bond between the Municipality of Vivaro Romano, its community, and the thin-skinned bean that bears the nickname of the emigrant who introduced it to the village.
