About Cinebook

Cinebook is the summer film and literature festival promoted by the Municipality of Brandizzo, in the province of Turin, Piedmont. Four free events brighten up the month of June, featuring author book presentations, open-air film screenings, and children's readings. This widespread program brings culture to local squares, villas, and public spaces, designed to engage all generations—from the youngest to the elderly—in evenings of entertainment and social connection, all with free admission.

Cinebook: Brandizzo's Cultural Summer

Cinebook is the summer film and literature festival organized by the Municipality of Brandizzo, a town in the north-eastern outskirts of Turin, in the Piedmontese Metropolitan City. The event offers a series of free appointments that, throughout the month of June, transform squares, historic villas, and public spaces into meeting points for reading, viewing, and sharing, bringing to life a summer season dedicated to accessible culture for everyone.

A Program of Books, Films, and Readings

The common thread of the festival is the interplay between the written word and moving images. The calendar alternates book presentations with authors in attendance, open-air film screenings, and readings dedicated to children, offering a varied selection that speaks to diverse audiences.

  • Meetings with contemporary writers and presentations of their works, accompanied by refreshments provided by the Pro Loco.
  • Cinema under the stars with titles designed for families, featuring special evenings dedicated to grandparents and grandchildren.
  • Read-aloud sessions for the little ones, part of the initiatives of the Library System of the Metropolitan Area of Turin.

An Intergenerational Festival

Cinebook was born with a strong intergenerational focus: the festival is realized with the contribution of the Piedmont Region as part of the project "Ready, Set, Go! A New Beginning for the Third Age in Brandizzo," linked to the active aging initiative. The goal is to create social opportunities that foster dialogue between different generations, from the elderly to children, strengthening the sense of community and the bond with the municipal library, the town's true cultural engine.

Culture Spread Across the Territory

The events take place in iconic locations in Brandizzo, from the Casa del Pedaggio to local villas, squares, and the sports center, enhancing the municipality's heritage and spaces. The choice of a widespread culture, free and without reservations, responds to the desire to bring books and cinema closer to those who do not usually frequent theaters or libraries, in the informal and convivial atmosphere typical of a Piedmontese summer.

Why Attend

For those living in Brandizzo and neighboring towns in the province of Turin, Cinebook represents a simple and pleasant opportunity to rediscover the joy of reading and the big screen outdoors, in good company. Free admission and a family-friendly atmosphere make it an ideal way to spend June evenings immersed in culture, meetings, and shared moments.
