Three days of flavor, music, and tradition in the heart of the Valdarno
The Cicogna Strawberry and Cream Festival is a historic event held in the village of Cicogna, a small hamlet within the municipality of Terranuova Bracciolini, in the province of Arezzo, in the heart of Tuscany. Reaching its 38th edition in 2026, it is one of the most anticipated events on the Valdarno spring calendar: an authentic celebration, created by the locals for the locals, yet capable of attracting guests from all over the area.
The dish that gives the festival its name is naturally the star: fresh and delicious strawberries and cream are the perfect sweet ending to every evening. But the menu doesn't stop there: food stalls and the restaurant offer traditional Tuscan specialties, while a pizzeria set up for the occasion rounds out the selection. Everything is managed by the volunteers of A.S.D. Cicogna, the local sports association that has been running the event for decades.
Beyond the great food, the festival comes alive with live music evenings featuring bands and groups, and the traditional briscola tournament, a moment of gathering and friendly competition among residents. The celebration also intertwines with the community's religious festivities, balancing popular tradition with the village's identity.
The event is organized by A.S.D. Cicogna with the support of the Municipality of Terranuova Bracciolini and the Pro Loco Terranuova. Admission to the festival area is free: you only pay for what you consume at the stalls and restaurant, in keeping with the convivial and accessible spirit of village festivals.
Those looking for the most genuine side of Tuscany, far from mass tourism circuits, will find a sincere taste of village life in Cicogna: the scent of strawberries, long tables under the stars, music, and the warm welcome of a small community opening its doors to visitors. A perfect opportunity to discover the Valdarno and Terranuova Bracciolini in spring.
The 38th edition confirmed the festival's successful formula: three evenings dedicated to good food and conviviality, with strawberries and cream as the absolute stars alongside Tuscan specialties offered at the stalls, restaurant, and pizzeria. Live music and festive moments for the entire Cicogna and Valdarno community accompanied the evenings.
The event was intertwined with the religious festivities in honor of Saint Roch for the Cicogna community.
