The Ciapél d'Oro is one of the most beloved events in Castione Andevenno, a village clinging to the terraced slopes of Valtellina, in the province of Sondrio. Organised by the Pro Loco of Castione Andevenno, it revolves around one of the oldest wine competitions in the valley, dedicated to Valtellina wines produced and bottled by local wineries, including the unlabelled productions of small winegrowers. It is a way to give voice and dignity to homemade wine, the one born from the hard work among dry-stone walls.
