An afternoon of masks and shows for the little ones, from the Library to the Town Hall
In Saint-Denis, a municipality in the middle Aosta Valley, the Children's Carnival is the village event dedicated to the youngest. Not a grand historical procession, but an afternoon of costumes, colors, and joy, designed for children and families.
The festival is organized in collaboration with the municipal library, which is also its starting point: from here, the masked parade sets off, crossing the village to the Town Hall. There, a show for children takes place, the central moment of the afternoon dedicated to fun and creativity.
Like many carnivals in small Aosta Valley municipalities, Saint-Denis's carnival thrives on community involvement and the work of volunteers. It is a simple and genuine opportunity to experience Carnival on a child-friendly scale, away from the crowds of major events, in a mountain village overlooking the middle Aosta Valley.
The 2026 edition took place on Monday, February 16, with an afternoon entirely dedicated to children, organized in collaboration with the municipal library of Saint-Denis.
The program included at 2:30 PM the masked parade starting from the Library and, at 3:00 PM, the show 'Bauló' in the Town Hall. A simple and joyful celebration, child-friendly.
Saint-Denis is located in the middle Aosta Valley, above Châtillon (A5 motorway exit Châtillon-Saint-Vincent). The festival takes place between the municipal library and the Town Hall.
During Carnival season (February), in the afternoon. Masked parade from the Library, followed by a show in the municipal hall.
