Chestnuts and marrons in the woods of Durlo
Among the woods of the Vicenza Little Dolomites, the hamlet of Durlo, in the Municipality of Crespadoro in the province of Vicenza, is famous for its chestnut groves and the excellent quality of its chestnuts and marrons. Every October, the Chestnut Festival and Marron Market transforms the village into a delicious event dedicated to the autumn fruit par excellence.
The indoor food stand offers traditional dishes and chestnut-based specialties: roasted chestnuts, gnocchi, soups, chestnut flour cakes, and even flavored craft beers. The heart of the festival is the market for marrons and chestnuts, alongside stalls selling artisan and local typical products.
The program includes music and entertainment, guided excursions along the paths and through the chestnut groves, and characteristic wooden games for adults and children. Organized by the Durlo 86 Association with free admission, the festival is an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Vicenza mountains and its traditions.
The 2026 edition of the Chestnut Festival and Marron Market of Durlo will be held in October in the hamlet of Durlo di Crespadoro, featuring the indoor food stand, a market for marrons and chestnuts, artisan products, music, guided excursions, and wooden games for all.
