About Cherry Festival

Between late May and early June, Castelbianco, a village in the Val Pennavaira in the hinterland of Albenga (province of Savona), celebrates its symbolic fruit with the Cherry Festival. In 2026, the festival reaches its 60th edition: three days of food stalls under the covered dining area, dance orchestras, entertainment for children, DJ sets, and a delicious cherry tart competition. Free admission.

Sixty Years of Cherries

The Cherry Festival of Castelbianco is one of the historic festivals of the Savona hinterland: in 2026 it reaches its 60th edition. It takes place in the village of Val Pennavaira, in the hinterland of Albenga (province of Savona), and celebrates the cherry, a fruit that has characterized agricultural production in these valleys for generations.

Three Days of Celebration

Organized by the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Castelbianco, the festival offers three evenings of gastronomy and entertainment. The dining area is entirely covered, so the festival can take place even in case of rain, and admission is free. Every evening, the stalls are accompanied by dance orchestras and DJ sets, while Sunday is also dedicated to entertainment for the little ones.

The Tart Competition

Among the most anticipated events is the cherry tart competition, which tests the creativity of amateur pastry chefs from the area. The Cherry Festival is an opportunity to discover a little-known corner of Liguria, where mountain agriculture and the conviviality of village festivals have intertwined for six decades.
