The international triathlon of the Riviera dei Fiori, a stage of the Challenge Family circuit
Challenge Sanremo is the Italian stage of the international Challenge Family circuit, one of the most important in world triathlon. The event is based at Portosole in Sanremo, in the province of Imperia, and brings athletes from all over the world to compete in the three disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running.
The program includes the middle distance (with challenging swimming and cycling legs), the sprint, youth races, and combined formats like Swim & Run. A structure that allows both professional triathletes and amateurs and younger participants to take part, each with their own challenge.
The course highlights the beauty of the Riviera dei Fiori: swimming in the waters of the Ligurian Sea, cycling along the coast and in the Imperia hinterland, and running along the promenade. An event that combines international competition with the tourism promotion of Sanremo and its territory, in the autumn.
The 2026 edition, the fifth, is scheduled for October 3 and 4 with its base at Sanremo's Portosole, as part of the global Challenge Family circuit.
On October 3, the Swim & Run and Youth Races dedicated to young athletes are scheduled; on October 4, the Middle Distance (1,900 m swim and 81 km cycling) and the Sprint race. Registrations have nearly doubled compared to the previous edition.
Portosole is in Sanremo, reachable from the city center. Sanremo is served by the train station on the Genoa-Ventimiglia line; by car, take the Sanremo exit on the A10 motorway.
Register via the official website, for each of the distances on the program.
