The summer night that lights up the "star-shaped" Sicilian village with culture, music, and entertainment.

The Centuripe White Night is the major summer festival of the Municipality of Centuripe, a village in the province of Enna in the heart of Sicily. Perched on a star-shaped ridge between the Simeto Valley and Mount Etna—and famously dubbed the "Balcony of Sicily" by Garibaldi—Centuripe provides a unique scenic backdrop. For one August evening, its historic center lights up, filling with music, art, and entertainment until the early hours.
The White Night follows a decentralized format: the program is distributed across the town's squares and iconic landmarks, allowing visitors to wander from one performance to the next. In recent editions, festivities have kicked off in the late afternoon, around 6:00 PM, with exhibition openings and aperitifs at the Baglio Comunale, continuing into the evening with contemporary circus acts, aerial acrobatics, live concerts, and DJ sets that keep the main square buzzing until late at night.
The White Night is more than just entertainment: the event also highlights the exceptional cultural identity of Centuripe, a city with a glorious Roman and Imperial past, home to one of the most important archaeological collections in Eastern Sicily, including the renowned Regional Archaeological Museum. The evening thus becomes the perfect occasion to discover the village, its monuments, and its 360-degree views of the Etna landscape.
Organized by the Municipality of Centuripe with the involvement of local cooperatives and associations, the White Night is a collective event designed for residents, families, and visitors alike. Most activities are free of charge, reflecting the spirit of popular celebration and sharing that defines the village's summer.
The Centuripe White Night returns in summer 2026 as one of the most beloved events on the summer calendar of the village in the province of Enna, Sicily. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: in line with previous editions, the event is expected to take place on an August evening, enlivening the historic center with exhibitions, concerts, shows, and DJ sets until late at night. The detailed program will be communicated by the Municipality of Centuripe in the weeks preceding the event.
Centuripe can be reached by car via the A19 Palermo-Catania motorway (Catenanuova exit) or the SS121, heading up toward the historic center perched on the hill. The nearest railway station is Catenanuova-Centuripe, on the Catania-Palermo line.
The event traditionally takes place on an evening in August, starting in the late afternoon (around 6:00 PM) and continuing until late at night.
Most events are free; some specific activities (such as aperitifs or museum entry) may require a small contribution. It is recommended to check for updates from the Municipality of Centuripe.
