About Centobuchi Half Marathon

Every February, Centobuchi, a district of Monteprandone in the province of Ascoli Piceno, transforms into the capital of running in the Piceno area with the Centobuchi Half Marathon, one of the longest-running and most beloved road races in the Marche region. Three distances for every leg and every passion: the competitive 21.097 km half marathon certified by FIDAL, the timed non-competitive 11 km race, and the 3 km fun walk open to everyone. An event that for over thirty years has combined sport, solidarity, and village celebration, organized by AVIS Monteprandone together with Podistica Centobuchi.

A Running Tradition That Never Gets Old

The Centobuchi Half Marathon is one of the most established events in the running calendar of the Marche region. It takes place in Centobuchi, a populous district of the Municipality of Monteprandone, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, in the heart of Val Vibrata, a few kilometers from the Adriatic coast. Reaching its thirty-fifth edition in 2026, the event has grown year after year to become a recognized classic throughout Central Italy, attracting hundreds of athletes from Marche, Abruzzo, and neighboring regions every winter.

Three Races for Everyone

The beauty of the Centobuchi Half Marathon lies in its inclusive formula, designed to welcome anyone who loves to move outdoors:

  • Competitive Half Marathon of 21.097 km, on a FIDAL-certified course, entirely flat and fast, included in regional circuits.
  • Timed Non-Competitive Race of 11 km, ideal for those who want to test themselves without the competitiveness of the full distance.
  • Fun Walk of 3 km, open to families, children, and enthusiasts of all ages.

The start is unique and spectacular, with the starting gun firing from Piazza dell'Unità in the heart of Centobuchi, and the finish line in the same location, amidst the cheers of the crowd.

A Fast Course Through Town and Industrial Area

After the start from Piazza dell'Unità and an initial stretch on the historic Via Salaria, the half marathon and the 11 km non-competitive race proceed together on the same route until the seventh kilometer, passing the Molino district. In the industrial area, the two routes diverge: the eleven kilometers head towards the finish line, while the half marathon tackles an additional loop before returning to the square. The flat terrain and the smooth design of the course make this race particularly appreciated by those seeking a good time or a personal best over the distance.

Sport, Solidarity, and Village Celebration

More than just a race, the Centobuchi Half Marathon is a true celebration for the entire community. The organization, managed by AVIS Monteprandone together with Podistica Centobuchi and with the patronage of the Municipality and Province, has always intertwined the passion for running with the values of blood donation and solidarity. Around the races, you can feel the warm atmosphere of the Piceno villages, with refreshments, awards, club rankings, and that sense of belonging that brings athletes back edition after edition.
