About Centennial Fair

On June 2nd, Chiusavecchia (province of Imperia) celebrates its Centennial Fair, a historic agricultural exhibition with over a century of tradition. For one day, the SS28 is closed to traffic and fills with stalls: livestock, plants, local products, oil, honey, and crafts, with street food, live music, and tastings. An event rooted in the agricultural vocation of the Impero Valley.

A fair with over a century of history

The Centennial Fair of June 2nd, also known as the Sample Agricultural Exhibition, is one of the oldest and most established events in the hinterland of Imperia: it boasts over a hundred years of history. It takes place in Chiusavecchia, a municipality in the Impero Valley in the province of Imperia, where for the occasion the state road SS28 is closed to traffic and transformed into a large open-air market.

Between agriculture, flavors, and crafts

The fair maintains its agricultural soul with the exhibition of livestock and plants, alongside stalls of local products: oil, honey, vegetables, and crafts. There is no shortage of traditional street foodpan fritu, grilled meat, cheeses, craft beer — served along the village streets. The day is enlivened by Latin music from early afternoon and live music in the late afternoon.

A community event

With exhibitors open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and free admission, the Centennial Fair is a great popular festival that coincides with Republic Day and, from 2026, will be integrated with Expo Valle Impero. An opportunity to discover the rural culture and authentic flavors of the Impero Valley, in a town that proudly preserves this century-old tradition.
