Over a hundred years of agricultural exhibition and market in Chiusavecchia, in the Impero Valley
The Centennial Fair of June 2nd, also known as the Sample Agricultural Exhibition, is one of the oldest and most established events in the hinterland of Imperia: it boasts over a hundred years of history. It takes place in Chiusavecchia, a municipality in the Impero Valley in the province of Imperia, where for the occasion the state road SS28 is closed to traffic and transformed into a large open-air market.
The fair maintains its agricultural soul with the exhibition of livestock and plants, alongside stalls of local products: oil, honey, vegetables, and crafts. There is no shortage of traditional street food — pan fritu, grilled meat, cheeses, craft beer — served along the village streets. The day is enlivened by Latin music from early afternoon and live music in the late afternoon.
With exhibitors open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and free admission, the Centennial Fair is a great popular festival that coincides with Republic Day and, from 2026, will be integrated with Expo Valle Impero. An opportunity to discover the rural culture and authentic flavors of the Impero Valley, in a town that proudly preserves this century-old tradition.
The 2026 edition of the Centennial Fair takes place on June 2nd, coinciding with the closing of Expo Valle Impero. The SS28 is closed to traffic and fills with stalls and stands, on a day that combines the agricultural tradition of the town, street food, and music.
Chiusavecchia is located in the Impero Valley, along the SS28, in the hinterland of Imperia. By car from the A10 Imperia Ovest exit. During the fair, the SS28 is closed to traffic: follow signs for parking.
Exhibitors open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Free admission; tastings and purchases are paid.
